For those who don't know JACT, it is the professional body for UK Classics teachers. It was formed by ARLT, the Classical Association and the Orbilian Society (which has since died). Its badge, three overlapping circles-within-circles, is a graphic representation of the three founding societies.

Over the years its relations with its 'parents' have had their ups and downs, but now the remaining bodies have settled down to an 'adult' relationship, with the two bodies representing mainly schools, JACT and ARLT, working very closely together and sharing one subscription and one Journal, and the Classical Association, representing mainly universities, working alongside but with financial independence.
