Following up an item in today's Explorator, I browsed upon this page: http://www.bitsofhistory.com/ace/CI.html

There's an organisation called ACE that supplies 50 ancient coins to a school as the basis for a project of finding out about the ancient world. Their website home page is here.

The page that the first link takes you to is a list of websites, mainly coin dealers, who have given permission for their photos to be used for educational, non-commercial, purposes. I've looked at some of the images, and I think they could be really useful. Here is an example: coin of Hadrian

It's Hadrian - useful if you are teaching Roman Britain and Hadrian's Wall. The original web page is here.

If anyone wants to be part of the ACE project, well, they say that UK schools have been involved, so go for it.
