As I flicked on a light switch in my modest home a while back, I thought how magical that would appear to someone living in ancient Rome.

At 19 my biggest ambition was to get the cute girl in my freshman English class to notice me. At 19 Augustus conquered the Roman state. It kind of puts things in perspective. more »
